A Trump-appointed judge in Texas ignored 20 years of scientific fact to undo the FDA’s approval of the leading abortion medication, Mifepristone. He ignored the views of doctors, patients, and the researchers at the FDA who regulate this prescription for nothing more than playing petty politics.

John: No judge or politician should have the right to dictate serious, personal medical decisions.

With a Washington judge immediately providing a ruling contrary to the Texas one, we’re setting the stage for a legal battle which could take us all the way to the Supreme Court—which, with its conservative majority, would be all too likely to ban abortion medication for the millions of people who need them.

Having worked as a doctor, the fact that this decision paves the way for people to fight against the FDA on all of their regulations and approvals is disgraceful. Science that can improve and save huge numbers of lives should not be up for political debate.
