The Shelby County Board of Commissioners, which is home to Memphis, Tennessee, voted to send recently expelled state Rep. Justin Pearson (D) back to the Tennessee General Assembly. The commissioners voted 7-0 to reappoint Pearson, though the remaining six Republican commissioners did not attend the meeting.

Here are some updates from the last few days. |
On Tuesday, April 11, the Indiana House gave final approval to House Bill 1334, a bill that would add ID requirements to mail-in ballot applications. Now that the bill has passed both chambers of the Legislature, it heads to Gov. Eric Holcomb (R).

On Monday, April 10, the North Dakota Legislature approved a proposed amendment that would restrict the ballot measure process in the state. Senate Concurrent Resolution 4013 will go before the state’s voters during the November 2024 election for approval.
