Hi, it’s Tammy Baldwin. I just launched my reelection campaign to continue representing Wisconsin in the U.S. Senate. I want to take a moment to tell you a bit about why I’m running, and then ask you to join our movement by splitting a $10 donation between my campaign and the DNC.

When I was a child, I got pretty sick and eventually got diagnosed with a serious illness. After three months in the hospital, my grandparents -- who raised me -- began looking for an insurance policy that would cover future care. As hard as they tried, they couldn’t find a single policy that would cover me.

Every insurer looked at my health record and denied me health insurance because of my “pre-existing condition.” Because I was sick, my grandparents were forced to pay out-of-pocket for my treatment. I saw how much my Nana and grandfather struggled to provide the necessary care I needed. And I made a vow that I would make sure no one else would ever have to go through that.

Now, because of years of work by Democrats, people like me cannot be discriminated against because of a pre-existing condition. And caregivers like my grandparents don’t have to stay up late worrying about what will happen to their savings if their loved one gets sick.

But , this progress is not guaranteed. Republicans continue to attack access to health care and threaten protections for people with pre-existing conditions across the country. And I can tell you that if Mitch McConnell and his Republican allies take hold of this Senate seat and the majority in 2024, countless Americans could find themselves in a place where insurance companies, once again, write all the rules.

I need the support of this grassroots team to defend this seat and keep lowering costs for families.
