I just had to share this headline with you, John:
It’s true. Even though the GOP’s own, independent research verifies that fraud did not play a role in President Biden’s 2020 victory, Donald Trump and his allies are still “addicted” to spreading this false message.
And even though our movement helped defeat election deniers running for key offices last November, the threat posed by this extreme ideology still persists.
- In the House of Representatives, a majority of Republican committee chairs are proponents of Donald Trump’s Big Lie.
- In Arizona, defeated GOP candidate Kari Lake has declared herself the “duly elected” governor of the state while attempting to overturn the 2022 election results.
- In states like North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and others, Republicans are still working to impose onerous new restrictions on voting in the name of combating non-existent voter fraud.
Why is the GOP so committed to bogus voter fraud claims? Attorney General Eric Holder put it perfectly: “Republicans have accepted that they’re a minority with majority power and they’re okay with not getting votes.”
That’s not democracy, John – quite frankly, it’s the exact opposite.
We refuse to sit back while Republicans spread a false narrative to undermine our democracy.
