Ahead of the Easter weekend, the Biden Administration attempted to hide a major Title IX rule change in a Thursday evening news dump. But you deserve to know the truth — especially if you have loved ones competing in girls' and women’s sports.
Under the Department of Education’s new Title IX rule, no school or college that receives federal funding will be allowed to implement policies that prohibit transgender students from playing on sports teams that are consistent with their so-called “gender identity.” In other words, these schools must allow biological males to compete in women’s sports in order to receive federal funding.
While Title IX was meant to protect women’s sports, President Biden is now using Title IX to demolish them — subsequently shattering girls’ and women’s dreams by erasing and disqualifying their accomplishments. Over the last few years, we’ve seen the devastating impacts of woke and unscientific sports standards, which have prohibited female athletes from participating and placing in competitions due to biological males unjustly taking priority. Furthermore, this policy raises serious safety concerns. Girls and young women should never be forced to face biological men in their locker rooms — yet this once commonsense standard is now to be considered bigoted, transphobic, and hateful, according to the Biden Administration.
This dangerous development is just the latest move by the Biden Administration to advance the normalization of transgenderism. Thankfully, House Republicans are actively fighting to stop this insane injustice.
Next week, House Republicans are expected to vote on the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which ensures educational institutions that receive Title IX funding are prohibited from allowing biological men to participate in girls’ and women’s sports. I look forward to voting in favor of this critical legislation, which will send a powerful message that House Republicans forcefully reject the woke, illogical policies that are creating an unfair environment for female athletes.
Additionally, as a member of the House Appropriations Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Subcommittee, I will use the power of the purse to fight the Biden Administration’s new Title IX rule. Taxpayer dollars have no place funding woke, weaponized, and wasteful initiatives that fundamentally alter the foundation of our nation. Rest assured, we will use the appropriations process to take down President Biden’s latest assault on millions of girls and women across the country.
