*Gov. Beshear Presents Over $480,000 in Awards to Benefit Graves County*
"Funds support law enforcement and local nonprofits"
*MAYFIELD, Ky. (April 12, 2023)* ? Today, at the Purchase Area Development District, Gov. Andy Beshear presented $481,087.27 to local law enforcement and nonprofits in Graves County.
?Every time I visit Mayfield, I get to see how this incredible community has come together to rebuild after tragedy,? *Gov. Beshear* said. ?Today, I?m proud to support those efforts by providing funds to help keep our heroic law enforcement officers safe in Graves County and to support local nonprofits.?
?Once again, it is an honor to welcome Gov. Andy Beshear to Mayfield, where today he is presenting funding from the Team Kentucky Nonprofit Fund for nonprofits here in the area that are helping in the rebuilding so much following the devastating tornado in December 2021,? said *Mayfield Mayor Kathy O?Nan*. ?Also instrumental in making the Nonprofit Assistance Fund was our representative, Richard Heath, and other legislators who have worked so hard to make events like today possible.?
*Law Enforcement Protection Program*
Gov. Beshear announced $30,528.25 in funding for the Graves County Sheriff?s Office, from the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security through the Law Enforcement Protection Program.
*Nonprofit Assistance Fund*
The Governor awarded $450,559.02 to eight nonprofits in Graves County. The awards come from the Nonprofit Assistance Fund [ [link removed] ], which is helping organizations across Kentucky recover from the effects of the pandemic. The funding comes from the federal ARPA, and Gov. Beshear supported the allocation of funds by the 2022 General Assembly. This funding will provide one-time direct relief payments to support the mission and long-term sustainability of each eligible nonprofit. The awards include:
* $100,000 to the Mayfield Graves County YMCA;
* $100,000 to New Pathways for Children;
* $100,000 to St. Jerome Parish of Fancy Farm;
* $100,000 to St. Joseph?s Parish of Mayfield;
* $20,071 to Purchase Players;
* $15,058.00 to the Willow Apartments Group Home;
* $12,876.00 to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Graves County and Southwest Kentucky; and
* $2,554.02 to The Salvation Army of Graves County
?The Salvation Army expresses its gratitude to the Governor and the General Assembly for this generous allocation of funds,? Corps Officer *Lt. Brittney Donegan* said. ??Doing the Most Good? in Graves County looks like keeping the lights on for someone in need, or providing assistance to someone impacted by natural disaster or helping a veteran who is in danger of experiencing homelessness. These funds will allow the Army to continue to provide these services in Graves County.?
?Team Kentucky Nonprofit Assistance funds will help our organization provide trained community volunteers for court appointment to advocate on behalf of dependent, abused and neglected children in Graves, Carlisle, Fulton and Hickman Counties,? said *Stephanie Floyd*, executive director of CASA of Graves County and Southwest Kentucky.
?The Mayfield Graves County YMCA is thankful for the nonprofit assistance fund and how we can utilize this to further our mission for the community,? *CEO Andrew Burgess* said. ?Because of this fund, we are able to provide more financial assistance to all families for scholarship members, childcare assistance and much more.
