This week yet another troubling story emerged from the land of Boebert.

Lauren Boebert is currently being accused of covering up a car crash that left a teen injured while her son was driving.

The teen who was riding in the passenger seat of the vehicle when Boebert’s son flipped the vehicle was left with multiple concussions and a severely lacerated hand.

We initially received a tip about this story in September 2022 but because it is the policy of American Muckrakers to not report on the children of the elected officials we investigate, we chose to not move forward with releasing the story.

However, now that Boebert’s office is trying to cover up the story, specifically trying to downplay the injuries of the teen who was hurt in the crash, we are now comfortable with discussing this incident as it sheds light on a long pattern of Lauren Boebert and her family getting into grisly crashes, covering them up, and then leaving those harmed to fend for themselves.

When asked to comment on the accident Boebert’s office stated, “The injury reported was superficial at best and was addressed by medical professionals out of caution.”

The injured teen describes the injury quite differently stating, “It was an accident. But the fact that they’re downplaying it like this is something else. Superficial injuries? I got multiple concussions. My thumb was almost cut off. I couldn’t hold a torch. It prevented me from getting a welding job.”

This isn’t the first time the Boebert’s have grievously injured someone due to their driving and then tried to cover it up whilst leaving the victim in the dust.

Take for instance, the story we investigated and uncovered in June 2022. Boebert allegedly was drunk and lost control of an ATV in Moab, Utah, with her son, dog, and sister-in-law on board. When Boebert bailed out of the ATV her sister-in-law suffered serious injuries to her face and teeth when she slammed into a rock face. Boebert then left the scene and in the aftermath tried to cover up the crash, failing to file an accident report as required by Utah DNR, and at first, denied our story. She later confirmed the story with the Denver Post but never filed that accident report.

Boebert allegedly 'begged' her sister-in-law not to tell anyone about the accident which could have dominated the headlines leading up to her primary. In addition to this accident, Boebert was charged with careless driving and operating an unsafe vehicle in 2016 after rolling her truck into a ditch in Garfield County, Colorado.

This pattern of Boebert and her clan covering up grisly crashes with impunity and then disregarding the consequences of their actions has to end. We’ll leave it to the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles to get the Boebert’s off the roads but it’s on us to get her out of Congress.
