AFGE Family -
We’ve added more webinars to our Winter/Spring 2020 offerings, including evening options for every EEO webinar! We've also added a new self-paced training on the EEO process and timelines.
February and March EEO webinars: We’ve added two evening EEO options to each month, in addition to the lunchtime options already available. If you already registered for a lunchtime slot, feel free to register for an evening session and cancel your daytime registration, if that works better for you.
February 25 and 27 : EEO: Performance
In this session, you will learn the ins and outs regarding performance-based actions as they may appear in EEO cases. We will take a look at how performance issues may intersect with claims involving disability, reasonable accommodations, harassment, and disparate treatment.
March 11, 12, 16, and 18: EEO: Retaliation
In this session, you will learn how EEO retaliation/reprisal is distinguishable from other forms of retaliation. We will go over examples of EEO activities that protect employees from being retaliated against in the workplace. We will also cover the legal burden for proving a case of retaliation, and how recent case law has shaped the elements of proof in this area of law.
Self-Paced Training: EEO Process and Timelines
This is a self-paced training that you can take at any time that works for your schedule. In this session, you will learn the EEO protected bases, EEO process timelines, the difference between an informal complaint and a formal complaint, the difference between requesting an EEOC hearing and a Final Agency Decision (FAD), and the EEO appeal process.
When registering for the webinars use the drop-down menu to choose the date and time that works best for you. Webinars are free and available to all AFGE members. Register today to guarantee your spot – let’s get 2020 started by learning more ways we can help our members!
