Since our founding in 2016, we’ve run campaigns in seven states to expand Medicaid when politicians refused to roll out coverage to their constituents stuck in the coverage gap – and seven times, voters stood by our side and decisively secured their access to health care. As a result of these winning campaigns, we’ve helped deliver Medicaid coverage to over 1 MILLION Americans across the country.

We are so proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish these past 7 years thanks to your support – but, team, our work is far from finished: 

In Mississippi, rural hospitals are on the brink of financial ruin due to the state’s continued refusal of federal funding to expand Medicaid coverage. As a result, these hospitals are forced to shoulder the costs of providing care to uninsured patients who would otherwise be eligible for Medicaid coverage. 

And Mississippi’s not alone, team. According to the American Hospital Association, nearly 75% of rural hospital closures between 2010 and 2021 were in states that refused to adopt Medicaid expansion, or had only just recently adopted it. With 10 states remaining who still refuse federal funds, the need to expand Medicaid has never been clearer.

That’s why we’re on the frontlines of the fight to guarantee Medicaid coverage for working people across the country. As we gear up for the 2023 and 2024 campaign seasons, and as more Medicaid ballot measures could potentially be on the way, will you donate today to fuel our efforts to give working people in America the health coverage they need?

The good news, team, is that time and time again, the voters have shown they’re with us. Just last month, in fact, North Carolina became the 40th state to adopt Medicaid expansion after extremist state legislatures finally capitulated to the will of North Carolina voters:

This decision will deliver health insurance to hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians and provide much needed relief to the state’s rural hospitals. But while North Carolina has come around, extremists in the last 10 states are still adamant that they will not be accepting the expansion.
