I’m going to be candid about this, Team. The decision by a Texas judge to revoke access to abortion pills is a disaster for women.

As of right now, this ruling has not yet taken effect, and you can still access mifepristone if you need to.

But if this ruling holds, it will mean thousands of women — in states across the nation — will lose access to an extremely safe form of abortion care. Fundamentally, it will mean more women lose access to the basic right to decide what they do with their own bodies.

Let me be very clear about this: rulings like this are only possible because we lost elections that paved the way for the appointment of far-right, extremist judges to the bench. If we’re going to un-rig our judiciary — and pass legislation to reinstate the right to choose — then we need to win the next election, Team. That is the simple reality of the situation we’re in.

So that’s why I’m coming to you right now, Team. I am asking for your help to protect this seat, retake our Democratic majority in the House, and undo this dangerous assault on the right to safe reproductive health care. Will you stand with me today?

When I was elected to Congress, I promised I would do everything within my power to defend every American’s basic rights, including the right to choose.

I am going to continue to do exactly that. I will continue fighting to prevent this outrageous, and legally meritless, ruling from taking effect, and I will continue fighting to restore the basic right to abortion that the Supreme Court took away last year.

We’ve got a long way to go, but we know the vast majority of the American people are on our side. If we work together, we will succeed.
