This is unprecedented, team —

Right now, access to Mifepristone — a safe medication widely used for miscarriages and abortions — has been banned nationwide by an extremist judge in Texas, putting tens of millions of women’s reproductive care in jeopardy.

If you’re feeling frustrated, angry, or disheartened, I hear you. This news marks another obstacle we must face in securing reproductive rights for all and now, more than ever before, we can’t give up and we must not back down.

Following this ruling, my colleagues Reps. Lizzie Fletcher and Pat Ryan introduced the Protecting Reproductive Freedom Act , legislation that would remove the ability for a state to ban or restrict access to Mifepristone. I support this bill because not only has the FDA already approved the abortion pill as safe, but because I believe it’s critical to ensure access to this medication is available to anyone who needs it.

At this moment, we need to mobilize quickly to overturn this ruling and prepare for future assaults on our reproductive rights.
