Sean’s colleague and close friend, Congressman Jamie Raskin, founded the Democracy Summer program to give college and high school-aged Democrats the training and experience they need to become effective political activists, organizers, and leaders.

This year, Team Casten is thrilled to be a part of this program’s expansion as one of nearly 60 partner campaigns throughout the country.

Fellows will get state-of-the-art training in phone-banking, text-banking, canvassing, fundraising and voter registration. They’ll also attend extraordinary seminars hosted by top scholars, organizers, and leaders from across the country.

Past Democracy Summer speakers have included House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Professor Laurence Tribe, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Rep. John Lewis and Civil Rights leaders Bob Moses and Rev. William J. Barber II, and other distinguished speakers and experts on the front lines of American politics and government.

With the next electoral battle against MAGA extremism on the horizon, Democracy Summer will prepare fellows to help elect Democrats nationwide!
