John, this picture was taken on Jan. 6, 2021. The man on the left is Doug Mastriano, who breached police lines shortly after this picture was taken during the insurrection:
Doug Mastriano is a Pennsylvania State Senator. And the evidence shows that he likely engaged in insurrection in the lead-up to the January 6th attack on the Capitol — even busing in Trump supporters on that day and breaching police lines. This is the clearest photo from that day, but many others show him immersed in the mob that tried to stop the transfer of power. The facts provide a strong argument that Doug Mastriano is disqualified from holding public office under the Disqualification Clause of the U.S. Constitution. As detailed in our full report, those facts indicate Mastriano:
We are ready to apply that same argument to every insurrectionist in office – including State Senator Doug Mastriano. The only way we can prevent future violent attacks and protect American democracy is if we ensure those who violate their oaths to the Constitution are held responsible. Doug Mastriano should be investigated for engaging in insurrection and, if allegations are substantiated, held accountable.
