John, ahead of the presidential primaries in Iowa and New Hampshire, NewDem leader Chrissy Houlahan has a message for voters:
Elect someone who can beat President Trump.
Sure, we're all on the same page here. But it may not be as simple as it seems. To beat President Trump, the Democratic nominee will need to win in critical states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
See, Chrissy represents a competitive district in Pennsylvania, one of the battleground states that decided the last presidential election. And it could very well decide this one too. She flipped this seat in 2018, so she knows how to win the very voters the Democratic nominee will need to win the White House.
Her message is simple: we need a nominee who will meet voters where they are. That means focusing on the middle-class jobs supporting small towns and rural America. And it means focusing on shoring up the Affordable Care Act with practical solutions that drive down costs.
We need a Democratic nominee who can win in competitive states because we need to defeat Donald Trump. Share our op-ed and help us spread the word.
