Follow Us Throughout Heart Month
Join WomenHeart during Heart Month to spread awareness about women
and heart disease. Our annual #29DaysofHeart campaign will highlight
the disproportionate impact of heart disease on African-American
women, in honor of Black History Month. We will also recognize Heart
Failure Awareness week starting February 9, Heart Valve Disease
Awareness Day on Feb 22 and showcase our Champions as they engage in
community education around the country. Be sure to follow us on

2020 Wenger (no woman)
Nominations Open for Wenger Awards
WomenHeart is now accepting nominations for the 2020 Wenger Awards.
This annual event highlights excellence in women's heart
disease, including research, practice, advocacy and communication. The
deadline to submit nominations is February 7 - learn more here. Save
the date for May 18 to attend the awards dinner in Washington, DC!

WomenHeart Board Inducts New Chair and Members
At the January WomenHeart Board of Directors meeting, Immediate Past
Chair Barbara Tombros passed the gavel to the new Chair, WomenHeart
Champion Jerri Anne Johnson, and four new members were welcomed. New
board members include Shaon Berry and WomenHeart Champions Phyllis
Blaunstein, Marie Warshauer and Kathy Webster. Read more here.

In honor of Heart Month, WomenHeart has partnered with jewelry and
fashion companies to offer exclusive access to jewelry and
limited-time pieces. Learn more here about the opportunity to purchase

WomenHeart. Donate during Heart Month and receive a signature

Cholesterol PSA
WomenHeart has released a new PSA as part of our Cholesterol
Awareness effort. The spots, produced in English and Spanish with the
support Amgen, focus on the importance of "knowing your numbers" and
taking control of your heart health. Watch them here.

Shining a Spotlight on South Asian Heat Health
On December 2, WomenHeart Board Member Gayathri Badrinath and
Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal published an op-ed in The Hill
advocating for lawmakers to take bold action on South Asian heart
health. The piece highlights their personal commitments to improving
heart health in their communities, and it highlights Rep.
Jayapal's bill, the South Asian Heart Health Awareness and
Research Act. Read more.
