The February - March 2020 Election is here!

Don't sleep on the (second) most important election of our lives. Here's everything you need to vote!
The first mail-in ballots for the March 2020 election go out Monday, February 3rd. We can't wait to vote - and we hope you're ready too. Our website has everything you need to know ([link removed][UNIQID]) ... or read below!

This election is important. In 2019, San Francisco had a very low turnout. Don't let that happen again - vote and make sure all your friends and family vote.

The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, February 18th 2020. California allows provisional voter registration up to the end of polling on election day.

Register to vote. ([link removed][UNIQID]) (You can vote provisionally ([link removed][UNIQID]) anytime up to and including election day, but it’s better to register. Check your registration status here ([link removed][UNIQID]) )

Vote no later than March 3rd. You can also vote early at City Hall. Find your polling place ([link removed][UNIQID]) . If you're a permanent vote-by-mail voter, you'll get your ballot on or around February 3rd. You can complete and mail-in your ballot at any time during that month, as long as it arrives by March 3rd (if it's getting close, consider dropping it off in person if you can). Opt in to vote by mail. ([link removed][UNIQID])

No Party Preference Voter? You have some special considerations to vote in the primary election. Click here for instructions ([link removed][UNIQID]) , or keep reading.

Because nothing is ever simple in this complicated world, the upcoming February–March 2020 election includes three subject areas each with a different requirement to vote in them:
* The Presidential primary, which Democratic voters are automatically able to vote in and No Party Preference voters can request a “crossover” ([link removed][UNIQID]) Democratic Presidential primary ballot for;
* Your county’s Democratic Party’s committee election, which only Democratic voters can vote in;
* The rest of the election (e.g., the Congressional primaries), which any registered voter can vote in.

Depending on your party preference, you will have one or more of these on the same ballot.

Don't skip the downballot. We know it's exciting to start deciding on the next president, but state and local elections have far more immediate effects on your life. Always research thoroughly and vote seriously for the candidates that represent you at the state and local level.

The Presidential Primary
------------------------------------------------------------
We're sure you already know what this is, but just in case... this is the election to choose the Presidential nominee for the November election. Nominees are different on the ballots for different parties. We're assuming you want to vote for the Democratic Presidential Primary. If you're not registered Democratic, you need to re-register ([link removed][UNIQID]) or get a crossover ballot ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

** SF DCCC Election
------------------------------------------------------------
This is the election for the Democratic Party Central Committee in San Francisco. Only voters registered as Democratic can vote in this election. If you want to vote in this election and you are NOT registered Democratic, you must re-register.

The DCCC election is not a primary. That means this is your only chance to vote on the members of the DCCC. This is a crucial election for shaping the direction of the Democratic Party for at least the next four years. If you want to bring a progressive vision to reality in America, don't miss this part of the ballot.

There are 14 seats open for Assembly District 17 and voters can vote for 14 candidates as part of the March 2020 election. We've made two endorsements - Austin Hunter and Gloria Berry for DCCC.

For full instructions and endorsement statements, check out our DCCC voter guide. ([link removed][UNIQID])

California and SF Primaries and Ballot Propositions
------------------------------------------------------------
In San Francisco, we have a bunch of primaries for state, local and federal officials. Anyone can vote in these races.
* US Representatives for CA-12 (Nancy Pelosi's district) and CA-14 (Jackie Speier's district).
* State Senate District 11 (Scott Wiener's district)
* State Assembly Districts 17 (David Chiu's district) and 19 (Phil Ting's district).
* San Francisco Superior Court Judge

We also have a number of ballot propositions in San Francisco, and one for the state of California. Anyone can vote for these as well. Check out our Ballot Proposition Voter Guide ([link removed][UNIQID]) for more information.

Phew, that was a lot. But getting informed and getting your vote out is important. Let's make change together... at the ballot box!
