Friend --
President Trump’s “peace plan” has been met with strong opposition from
experts, presidential candidates, lawmakers and the pro-Israel, pro-peace
community. It’s been called a “trojan horse,” the “giveaway of the
century,” a “con,” a “sham,” “absurd,” and a “rubber stamp for
annexation.”
At J Street, we believe it’s vitally important to cut through the
administration’s rhetoric surrounding this plan and to expose it for what
it is: a smokescreen for annexation. This is critical if we are to prevent
President Trump, Ambassador Friedman and Prime Minister Netanyahu from
establishing a new baseline for US policy, legitimizing annexation,
imperiling Israel’s security and democracy and condemning Palestinians to
permanent occupation and statelessness.
[ [link removed] ]We’ve created a resource page rounding up top analysis of the plan, as
well as statements of condemnation from presidential candidates, members
of Congress, Jewish organizations, Israeli security experts and prominent
Palestinians.
We hope you’ll share this page to help debunk the administration's
Orwellian claims. The more opposition we can muster, the better the chance
we have of mitigating the damage of this annexation plan and defending the
prospects for successful diplomacy once Trump is voted out of office.
Together, we can push back on this dangerous proposal and lay the
groundwork for Congress and the next administration to undo the terrible
damage wrought by Trump and Friedman and put us back on a pathway to
peace.
Thank you for your support.
Dylan Williams
Senior VP of Government Affairs
