Support AMP’s work in these last nights of Ramadan

Dear Email,

Tonight marks the first odd night of the last ten nights of Ramadan. In this final stretch, the Quran and prophetic tradition encourage us to redouble our efforts and end the month strong. With the ongoing Israeli aggression on Masjid Al-Aqsa, I have been reflecting on my recent trip to Jerusalem earlier this year. After decades of my family's displacement, I was finally able to visit the land of my forefathers. The experience that left the biggest impact on me was attending the Jummah prayer at Masjid Al-Aqsa, a moment that gave me a new inspiration for my work.

During the prayer, the Imam addressed tens of thousands of congregants about the increasing incursions on the Masjid and thanked the local worshippers for their efforts in preserving and protecting it. He reminded everyone present of their obligation to protect Masjid Al-Aqsa for the Palestinians and Muslims around the world who are denied access by the apartheid state. This made me contemplate, "What role do we have and can play as Americans in preserving the Masjid's integrity and sanctity?" Unfortunately, the U.S. is the main enabler of the Israeli occupation. This is a fact that must be challenged and can be changed - and this is what AMP is doing.

On this blessed odd night, I urge you to support AMP’s work for Al-Aqsa with a Zakah-Eligible donation.

Here in the U.S., AMP remains committed to fulfilling our communal obligation to Masjid Al-Aqsa and the Palestinians. We understand the sacrifice and efforts that the Palestinian people make and we honor them. We understand our role and we act on it to strengthen the impact of the resilience of the Palestinian people. This Ramadan, we launched a preemptive advocacy campaign and have been running a month-long education campaign on Masjid Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem. Last week, tens of thousands of people took to the streets in major cities across the country to make it known that our community will not stay silent on Masjid Al-Aqsa. We are determined to leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of justice for Palestine.

The Palestinian people have made many sacrifices in defense of our first Qibla. In these final nights of Ramadan, I invite you to join AMP in continuing our crucial work to fulfill our collective obligation to Masjid Al-Aqsa and Palestine.

Mohamad Habehh
