Friend, it's official: A Trump-appointed judge in Texas has issued a ruling to ban mifepristone – a medication that is necessary for more than half of all abortions – nationwide.

When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, they claimed to be handing this issue back to the states. But this ban will even apply in states where abortion is legal and protected under state law. Make no mistake here: This was their plan all along. And today, the far-right minority in our country is one step closer to banning all abortions nationwide.

I'm saddened, worried and angered by this news. This is another difficult day for all of us who are fighting to defend and restore reproductive freedoms. But I am also more determined than ever to fight as hard as I can to protect women's right to make our own health care decisions. And I need you to stand with me.

This fight is by no means over. We're headed to a lengthy appeals process, and we have a real shot at stopping this ruling. The majority of Americans support legal abortion. Now, as this case makes it's way through the courts, we need to make our voices heard over the dangerous minority of extremists.

That's why I'm asking 10,000 Democrats from all across the country to add their names to my petition to defend reproductive rights from these far-right attacks. I'm counting on your name to make sure we have Democrats in xxxxxx represented. Please, will you add your name before midnight tonight?

Thank you for never giving up this fight,

Jeanne
