John, you know my position on gun violence prevention. In fact, Connecticut has some of the strongest laws in the nation and our delegation regularly fights in Congress to bring those same common sense gun laws to the entire country — including Tennessee.
Tennessee children and families are worthy of leaders who will keep our children safe. Ousting lawmakers for representing the voters who elected them at a rally for gun safety is un-American, anti-democratic, and doesn't make our children safer in schools.
Add your name to my petition if you agree: Last Thursday's actions to expel Democratic state Reps. Justin Jones & Justin Pearson from the Tennessee state legislature flies in the face of democracy!
The basis of American democracy is that we pick our leaders – our leaders do not rip away from voters their freedom to elect leaders who represent their voice and values. Thousands of parents, children, and community members have rallied for common sense safety gun reforms supported by law enforcement in Tennessee.
This represents the latest effort by extreme politicians to take away freedoms and block everything that hardworking families need: the right to safe schools, free speech, and the freedom to pick your leaders.
Tennessee deserves leaders who deliver for families and protect their right to free and fair democracy. Stand with me if you agree these latest action by extreme lawmakers are shameful and undemocratic>>
Thanks for standing strong when it matters most, John.
