John,

We’ve had a great start to 2020 -- it’s hard to believe that January has already come to a close.

Our campaign has traveled to small towns across our district. We’ve trudged through snow to knock on doors, we’ve visited presidential campaign offices, and we’ve met with Iowans of all ages to talk about why this election is so important.

Meanwhile, Steve King has focused on spreading his racist and divisive ideas. He pushes his fringe conspiracy theories instead of focusing on the issues that matter to regular folks in our district like farm bankruptcies, trade deals, and grocery store closures.

Too much is at stake in this election -- can you chip in $5 or more right now to make sure we can take on and defeat Steve King this fall?

There’s a lot to look forward to this February, starting with the Iowa caucuses! We will be finishing up our first 39-county tour of the district, and plan to hit the road for Round 2 shortly thereafter.

We’re going to keep speaking about the problems facing the folks in our district and working together to bring solutions to Washington.

For far too long, Congress has ignored what’s at stake for us. They’ve favored corporations in trade deals and trade aid, leaving most farms to suffer and shut their doors. Too many people live in towns without a grocery store, leaving them to shop at dollar stores and gas stations.

We need an Iowan who will fight tooth and nail for our shared values. We all know that’s not Steve King -- it’s time for a change.

We’re so close to meeting our January fundraising goal -- can you pitch in to help us get there by the end of the day?

Standing Tall for All,

J.D. Scholten
