Key Supreme Court Case Could Increase School-choice Possibilities In California

If the Supreme Court does invalidate all state Blaine amendments, including California’s, it would clear the way for the enactment of an array of school-choice options, such as tax-credit scholarships and vouchers. In California, polls show strong support for school choice, and without the obstacle of the state Blaine amendment, that support could become a political force for education change.

Izumi writes of Warren’s plan to “eliminate the federal program that promotes new charter schools” and have “only local school boards, which are often controlled by union sycophants, to have the power to authorize the establishment of charter schools,” which he notes is a position to the left of California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

SFGate says participation by diners is “technically optional,” and “if you choose to opt in,” the restaurant “purports to make your meal more climate-friendly.” But one restaurant, Great Gold, told the hard-left Mother Jones, according to SFGate, “that after many diners commented negatively on it, the restaurant decided to drop the fee and raise prices by 1% instead, with the intention of sending that 1% to Restore California each month.”
