Water has always been one of Wisconsin Conservation Voters’ priority issues. We must protect water from polluters and achieve safe drinking water for all. Clean water is an environmental issue, but it’s also an issue of justice. Decades of structural racism and disinvestment has resulted in higher rates of lead and other pollutants in communities already bearing the brunt of environmental degradation. It’s time to change that.
This lobby day we are focusing on PFAS, one of the most dangerous groups of chemicals threatening and infecting our water in cities, suburbs, and rural communities. As we understand more about these chemicals, one thing is clear: this is a statewide problem. That’s why we want you to come make your voice heard and speak directly to your legislators.
Fresh off one of the most important elections in more than a decade, Wisconsin has an opportunity to set things on the right course with a new Supreme Court that will be dedicated to fairness and the law, not corporate donors. With this new political reality, it’s perfect timing to speak directly with our legislators about what we expect from them.
