DNR accepting comments on an environmental assessment worksheet for Farmington Compressor Station improvements project

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is accepting comments through? May 11 on an Environmental Assessment Worksheet for a proposed Farmington Compressor Station improvements project.

Northern Natural Gas proposes several phased maintenance and equipment improvements at the existing facility, located in Dakota County. Project construction would include building removals, equipment maintenance and replacement, and other improvements. The proposed improvements would be constructed in phases over the next 10 years, beginning in 2023.

The EAW and associated documents are available on the project page (mndnr.gov/input/environmentalreview/Farmington-compressor-station.html). Printed copies may be requested by calling 651-259-5145. A hardcopy of the EAW is also available for public review at Dakota County Library-Farmington, 508 3rd St, Farmington, MN 55024. The EAW was published in the April 11 EQB Monitor (eqb.state.mn.us/eqb-monitor-volume-47-number-15).

Comments on the EAW must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. Thursday,
May 11, 2023. Mailed comments should be sent to the attention of Michaela Leach, DNR Ecological and Water Resources Division, 500 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, MN 55155-4025. Comments via email should be sent to [email protected] with ?Farmington Compressor Station? in the subject line.

People who submit comments will receive a copy of the decision document, which includes responses to comments. Because all comments and related information are part of the public record for this environmental review, commenters? names and email or postal addresses will be published and publicly available as they appear in the materials they submit.
