I invite all Third District residents to join me for a telephone town hall this Thursday, April 13th at 6:30p.m. As your Member of Congress, one of my top priorities is being open and available to the people I represent. With the 118th Congress underway, I look forward to listening to folks and making sure they know where I stand on the pressing issues facing our nation.

Are you a high school student interested in demonstrating your artistic ability?

My office is excited to launch this year’s Congressional Art Competition! All high school students residing in Georgia’s Third Congressional District are eligible and encouraged to enter. Entries, including paintings, drawings, photos, computer-generated art, collages, and prints, must be submitted digitally to Jessica Eck at [email protected] no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2023 for consideration. The online submission must include a single entry as well as a completed Student Information & Release Form.

The overall first-place entry will represent Georgia’s Third District for one year in the United States Capitol Building. Full submission guidelines can be found here. The Congressional Art Competition entries from last year’s competition can be found here.

Thank you to the folks at Standard Textile Mill in Upson County for having me last week. I enjoyed touring their facility in Thomaston, and learning more about their textile production process. Standard Textile is a leading provider of institutional textiles – and their products are used in healthcare, hospitality, interiors, and consumer markets worldwide.

Last week, I had an insightful meeting with Mark Parsley and former Georgia Agricultural Commissioner Gary Black at BioDefense Technologies in Harris County. I enjoyed learning about their anti-microbial coating that offers a new way of keeping high touch areas in public settings germ free.

I also had a productive visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Headquarters in Atlanta. Along with a group of my Republican colleagues, we had important discussions on a range of topics with facility staff, and toured both the Lab Training Facility and Antimicrobial Resistance Lab.
