Our city is at a crossroads, John.

Violence causes parents fear whenever their kids head to the subway or stay late for sports practice. It shuts down block parties and celebrations. It pits communities against one another and rips apart the very idea that we’re in this together.

Our young people are forced to learn in unsafe school buildings that pose hazards to their health. Longtime residents are struggling to keep up with the rising costs of living. Our economy is failing to produce the high-wage jobs and robust small businesses that enable communities to prosper.

As Helen often says, everything must change — and we need a fearless, proven fighter like her to deliver it.

Tonight’s debate is a critical moment on the pathway to realizing that change.

On the debate stage, Helen will outline her bold vision for a safer, thriving, vibrant city for all Philadelphians. It’s one of our biggest chances to show voters that Helen is a champion who will make our city the best place in the country to live and raise a family.
