John,
Industrial-scale factory farms and slaughterhouses are huge polluters, yet Big Ag corporations use “sustainability” claims to dupe people into thinking their products and brands are environmentally friendly. This has to stop!
Join us in submitting a comment to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) demanding they stop this misleading practice.

Factory farms produce vast quantities of manure and other wastes that make their way into the local environment, where they pollute air and water, threatening nearby communities and the climate at large.
As people who care about our environment and health, we all want to make consumer choices with the least impact, especially when it comes to the food we eat. So long as the biggest polluters are allowed to hide behind false and misleading claims, it’s impossible to make informed decisions.
The Federal Trade Commission, an independent government agency tasked with the promotion of fair competition and consumer protection, has a responsibility to rein in this deceptive marketing. It can do so by setting clear guidance in the Green Guides – a resource designed to prevent marketers from making environmental claims that mislead consumers. Now is our chance to hold these corporations accountable!
Submit your comment before the April 24th deadline urging the FTC to stop misleading climate claims by updating the Green Guides.

I look for products with less impact on the environment and rely on product labels and other marketing to make informed consumer choices. But as long as the biggest polluters are allowed to hide behind false and misleading sustainability claims, it’s impossible to make informed decisions. I urge FTC to include sustainability claims in the Green Guides and follow up with robust enforcement to hold corporations accountable.

Big Ag companies use misleading climate claims to appeal to consumers instead of actually cleaning up their acts. This unfair and illegal practice not only harms consumers but also harms truly sustainable family farmers who invest the time, effort, and money into raising animals in a way that actually matches what conscientious consumers want to support.
Going up against Big Ag’s entrenched corporate influence won’t be easy, so we need you with us. It’s time for the FTC to do its job and hold harmful corporate polluters accountable for deceiving consumers with bogus climate and sustainability claims!
Send a message to the FTC today demanding they include sustainability claims in the Green Guides!
