Fresh Expressions Comes to Missouri

The  Methodist Fresh Expressions author, Michael Adam Beck, is coming to Columbia to do a two-part training for our laity and clergy. The Clergy-specific date is April 20, and the laity date is May 6. Both events start at 9:30 am and end at 3:30 pm. This class will be a great benefit for those churches looking for something new and fresh, something to get them inspired, Michael Beck and his team will inspire and give great new ideas for all types of churches at this event. The overall fee was $30 dollars per person and lunch and refreshments will be provided at both locations and are covered by the registration fee. The deadline for the April 20 training is April 17 and the deadline for May 6 is May 2.  The event is live in Columbia and streamed to Chillicothe. It is being organized by the North Central District but is open to anyone in the Missouri Conference. Free Implicit Bias Course Available

The Missouri Conference has partnered with the UMC General Commission on Race and Religion to create a Missouri-specific version of the course “Implicit Bias: What We Don't Think We Think.” Any Missouri Conference member – clergy or lay – is invited to take the training for free to learn about the unconscious bias we all experience.
