Combatting Anti-2SLGBTQI Hate

Open Letter to All Levels of Government

It’s time for all levels of government in Canada to take action both to counter the rise in anti-trans and anti-2SLGBTQI hate as well as to protect the safety, rights, and freedoms of 2SLGBTQI people and communities.

Open Letter to the CRTC Regarding Fox News

Due to their clear violation of Canadian broadcasting standards, Fox News has no place on Canadian broadcasting networks. Egale Canada is calling on the CRTC to begin public consultations on the removal of Fox News from the list of non-Canadian programming authorized for distribution in Canada.

In January 2022, Bill C-4 became law nationwide which formally banned conversion "therapy", and while we can celebrate the ban, our new educational resources aim to help guide the continuing efforts as community and allies turn to the question, now what?

Fostering Dialogues: an arts based research project

Fostering Dialogues

Fostering Dialogues was an arts-based action research project that brought together LGBTQ older adults and PSWs from Ontario in a virtual 12-week arts & dialogue program.

This program explored themes of home, care, and futures of community-based care through facilitated conversations, art-making, and co-creation of a digital mural.

We're excited to release the Fostering Dialogues project's research report and the interactive mural.

Legacy Giving

Did you know that 82% of Canadians report that they donate to a charity each year – but currently, only 5% of Canadians have chosen to create a gift to charity in their Will? (CAGP Foundation, 2020).

Legacy giving has the potential to create great, lasting impacts on important causes and the work of charities that are close to your heart, without taking away from your loved ones. In partnership with Will Power – a national public education effort – you can learn more about leaving a gift through your Will.

Through Will Power, you can calculate what your special gift could be and even connect with financial advisors, estate lawyers, or notaries about including a gift to Egale in your Will.

For more information about legacy gifts, to speak with someone at Egale, or to start your Will online today, please visit: egale.ca/bequeath-a-gift/.
