Hi,
Our food systems account for more than a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions, making animal agriculture one of the largest contributors to climate change. With that said, food production and consumption are rapidly deteriorating the planet. What we are eating is pushing the planet to the breaking point on climate change and deforestation.
Earth Day Network’s Foodprints for the Future <[link removed]> campaign highlights the different ways our food choices affect the planet, and educates individuals and institutions to make smarter choices.
So what is a foodprint?
A foodprint measures the environmental impacts associated with the growing, producing, transporting and storing of our food—from the natural resources consumed, to the pollution produced to the greenhouse gases emitted. By reducing your foodprint, you can help do your part to save the planet.
The most immediate action we can all take right now to help mitigate the climate crisis is to eliminate meat from our diet or at the very least reduce our meat consumption. We need to fight climate change with diet change!
