John,
The 2023 legislative session — the first under the Moore-Miller Administration — has officially come to an end. It is the honor of a lifetime to serve as your Governor, and I’m incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made over the last few months.
Together with our partners on both sides of the aisle in the General Assembly, we successfully passed all 10 of the bills I introduced, including:
- The Family Prosperity Act that seeks to end childhood poverty by making the Earned Income Tax Credit permanent and expand the Child Tax Credit.
- The Fair Wage Act that will raise the state minimum wage to $15/hour on January 1, 2024.
- The SERVE Act that will create a paid service year option for Maryland high school graduates to serve their communities.
I plan to sign some of these bills into law later today and will sign more in the days ahead!
On the campaign trail, I promised to bring Marylanders of all backgrounds together to tackle the issues facing us, and now, we’re delivering. None of this would have been possible without support from people like you.
While Aruna and I spent the last few months working to move our state forward and pass our legislative priorities, we had to pause ALL fundraising during the legislative session. Needless to say, we’re a little behind!
As we celebrate our accomplishments, we need to get the message out across the state, and that takes resources.
Will you help us kickstart our fundraising efforts and make up for lost time by pitching in a grassroots contribution of $10 or more to power our campaign?

The legislative session may be over, but our work is continuing in real-time, and it’s only possible through support from folks like you.
Thank you for empowering us to lead Maryland forward. I can’t wait to share more updates and accomplishments with you as the year progresses.
Elevate,
Wes
