News from Rep. Chip Roy

Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

As I begin another busy week in Texas, I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, the 21st Congressional district, and our republic as a whole:

Holding Secretary Mayorkas accountable for this border crisis

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has actively failed to maintain operational control of our southern border, and it’s time to cut his salary. Since his appointment, we have seen thousands of Americans fatally suffering from fentanyl poisoning, record-breaking numbers of migrants dying while trying to cross the Mexico-Texas line, and cartels murdering Americans in broad daylight.

Since the Secretary has willfully ignored his duties, I am urging congress to use the power of the purse to hold him financially accountable.

Fighting discrimination against pro-life Americans

Last week, I urged the House Appropriations Committee to defund the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. The FACE Act was originally intended to ensure access to churches and abortion facilities; however, the law has since been weaponized by the DOJ to wrongly target pro-life individuals. Just last September, the American people watched in horror as dozens of heavily armed FBI agents conducted an early-morning raid, with guns drawn, on the home of Mark Houck, his wife, and seven children.

It’s time to put a stop to the weaponization of this law and the weaponization of government in general.

Stopping Biden’s woke spending plans

The American people cannot prosper under Washington’s “business as usual” mindset. Biden’s spending plan prioritizes funding woke and weaponized government bureaucrats. In contrast, the Freedom Caucus plan we’ll stop funneling taxpayer dollars into wasteful government agencies and put economic prosperity back into the hands of the American people.

Passport Resources

The State Department is encouraging passport applications and renewals during the off-peak travel season in fall or winter when demand is lower, and processing is faster. Please remember to check your passport expiration date and keep in mind some countries require your passport to be valid for six months after your visit.

You can find information on how to apply or renew your passport here.

Assessing the Chinese communist threat

On April 20th, I will be joining Heritage’s two-day Leadership Summit in Washington, DC. I will be participating on a panel examining the Chinese Communist Party’s threat to our country. For more information on the event, please visit here.

If you have any concerns that my office can help out with, please don’t hesitate to call or email through the “email me” portal on my website. If you feel so inclined, you can also just send an old-fashioned letter to my Washington or district offices.

If your friends, relatives, or neighbors would also like to sign up for these weekly updates, they can do so by sending my office a quick email or simply by signing up here. For more up-to-the-minute updates, you can follow my press team on Facebook and Twitter.
