I threw my hat in this race over a year ago, knowing that the new 57th district needed an experienced, viable candidate to win in November. My experience advocating in the General Assembly for the past 8 years will help me hit the ground running as Delegate.
We’re at a pivotal point in Virginia. We have the opportunity to lead the nation in education, health care, including reproductive rights, and energy. The chance to be a safe haven for liberty and equality and to preserve the incredible progress we’ve made in the past few years.
We’re also looking at the real possibility that a Republican-controlled legislature will strip women of their right to choose, privatize our children’s education, and put Virginia on course for fossil-fuel dependency that will only hurt us in the future.
All of this and more is on the line in this election. Party control in the state legislature will be decided by only a few high-profile races across the Commonwealth, one of which is right here in District 57.
To me, it’s a no brainer. We have to win this.
