Today, our former far-right opponent Yvette Herrell announced she’s officially running against Gabe in a 2024 rematch for New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District. And she was joined by none other than House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

This isn’t just any old race for Congress: McCarthy came to Las Cruces because he knows how important NM-02 is to keeping the House red or flipping it blue next year.

He and Herrell are desperate to kick Gabe out of office, take this seat back, and move our district (and country) backward — we can’t let them. Not with reproductive choice, affordable healthcare and housing, environmental protection, and so much more on the line.

Today’s announcement is a wake-up call: the race to 2024 begins NOW. This is a top-target of the NRCC as well as a DCCC Frontline seat. Gabe needs all the grassroots support he can get to go up against extremist Herrell and her far-right backers like McCarthy and Trump.
