Census Bureau Releases 2020 Census Apportionment Brief
On Wednesday, April 12, the Census Bureau is set to release the 2020 Census Apportionment Brief, which covers 2020 Census population results used to determine each state’s share of congressional seats for the next decade until the 2030 Census. This report provides context of trends in congressional apportionment, makeup of the apportionment population, distribution of seats among the states and the method used for calculation.
Estimates of U.S. Population by Age and Sex
On Thursday, April 13, a downloadable file containing July 1, 2022, estimates of the resident U.S. population by single year of age and sex will be released on the Population and Housing Unit Estimates webpage. In the coming months, the U.S. Census Bureau will release additional population estimates for cities and towns, as well as national, state and county population estimates by age, sex, race and Hispanic origin.
