Today, Yvette Herrell brought US Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy to Las Cruces, a city she ignored throughout her term, to announce another campaign for the Republican nomination for New Mexico’s Second Congressional District. 

The upcoming race for NM-02 is yet again shaping up to be one of the most competitive in the country. Rush a donation to DPNM to make sure we have the ability to compete with Herrell’s high-dollar, GOP elite-sponsored campaign - we can't let NM-02 slip back to the GOP while so much is at stake nationally.

Unlike Herrell, Rep. Gabe Vasquez has consistently put New Mexicans over corporate interests. Rep. Gabe Vasquez’s first term is off to a strong start, including securing Community Project Funding dollars for his district, which Herrell never did, and ensuring the federal government always remembers NM-02. 

While Herrell held the NM-02 seat from 2021 to 2023, her record included: 

• Herrell sponsored the Life at Conception Act, which would ban all abortions and certain types of contraceptives, such as IUDs nationwide - including New Mexico. 
• Yvette Herrell undermined Democracy by voting against certifying the 2020 election results. 
• Yvette Herrell promoted the use of Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19, putting people in danger with this bizarre conspiracy. 
• Despite taking credit, Yvette Herrell voted against helping New Mexico fire victims of the Calf Canyon/Hermit’s Peak fire, many of whom lost everything in the worst fire in state history. 
• Yvette Herrell has a close association with criminal insurrectionist Couy Griffin and touted his endorsement. 

New Mexicans won't forget Yvette Herrell's extreme and out-of-touch agenda that prioritizes corporations over her constituents. Show Yvette Herrell that her announcement with national elite GOP leadership is tone deaf to New Mexico’s values by making a donation to DPNM.
