There is no better word to define the grotesque neglect of justice we have witnessed.

In concert with Donald Trump, Republicans in the Senate led by Mitch McConnell have effectively shredded the constitution — their actions throughout the entire impeachment process, culminating in their vote to not call witnesses in the trial, have been in pursuit of one goal: to allow their master, Donald Trump, to continue breaking any law as he pleases.

At the direction of Donald Trump, Republicans in the US Senate — those whose duty it is to protect and defend the Constitution and serve the people — have rendered a verdict without a trial.

This isn't open to multiple interpretations — these are the facts of what just happened. And this it is not a vote on taxes or immigration policy. This is a vote on whether America condones a king or not, and Senate Republicans have have decided to crown Trump their king.

Unforgivable.
