Last week — right after another tragic mass shooting rocked the nation, and right before another one this morning — far-right Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed the “Anyone With a Gun” bill into law, which is exactly as bad as it sounds.
This bill allows almost anyone to carry a gun in public without a background check, training, and without ever firing a gun. Bills like this are terrifying, and make DAGA’s mission to elect Democratic AGs even more important.
A recent study found that when states weakened their concealed carry laws by removing provisions such as live fire training requirements and violent misdemeanor prohibitions — which DeSantis’ “Anyone With a Gun” Bill would do — they experienced an increase in gun assaults and gun homicides.
This bill is not making Floridians safer — it’s about catering to a far-right base and satisfying the gun lobby.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
