OJJDP Observes Child Abuse Prevention Month

child abuse prevention month

President Biden proclaimed April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Join OJJDP in honoring those who work to support children, strengthen families, and increase awareness on how to prevent child abuse.

OJJDP funds programs and training that are critical to the intervention and investigation of child abuse and neglect cases. In fiscal year 2022, the Office awarded $27.6 million under its Victims of Child Abuse Act programs for OJJDP-supported Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs). The Office also awarded $19.5 million for training and technical assistance for Tribal CACs, child abuse prosecutors, court-appointed special advocates, and judicial, legal, and social services professionals.
