John,
Last year, Kari Lake ran for governor in Arizona as an election-denying Republican. She lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs – and it wasn’t even close.
And now, the losses just keep piling up!
Kari Lake has refused to accept the election results and has asked Arizona courts to overturn the election and hand her the governor’s seat.
But instead, the Arizona Supreme Court handed her a big loss – throwing out almost all of her claims.
That’s not all – the Arizona Supreme Court invited Gov. Katie Hobbs and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes to request sanctions against Lake and her legal team for bringing frivolous claims with no factual basis.
Here at Power the Vote, we love to celebrate big wins for democracy, and we know you do, too.
But we also know election deniers like Kari Lake aren’t quitting anytime soon – and there’s so much more work to be done.
The fact is, year-round organizing in Arizona is the first line of defense against election deniers like Kari Lake. We have to first empower voters to defeat candidates like Kari Lake at the polls – and then defend those wins.
This is where voter protection work makes a big impact. Last year, the voter protection team in Arizona helped 3,400 Democratic voters get their rejected ballots counted – which put the governor’s race outside the margin for a recount. That helped to protect the race against attacks from Kari Lake and her supporters.
We can’t afford to take our democracy for granted. That’s why we’re funding voter protection staff in Arizona – because their work is absolutely essential to fighting for voters and democracy.
You can be a part of the story of how we win in 2024! Help us fight for democracy – make a contribution today to support voter protection staff in Arizona. [[link removed]]
Together, we can fight back against anti-democratic forces. We hope you’ll join us!
Thanks for your support,
Kim Allen

We Fund Voter Protection
In 2020, we ran the Democratic Party’s Voter Protection Program in Georgia, when the state flipped blue for the first time in nearly 30 years.
We pioneered a new model of voter protection, built on sustained investments and long-lasting relationships.
Now, we’re building on that success and adapting the Georgia model to fight voter suppression in other states.
