We’ve made it through the fiscal cutoff, let’s keep up the momentum!

This past Tuesday was the second fiscal cutoff of this year’s legislative session, meaning that all bills had to be passed out of fiscal committees to continue on their journey through the legislative obstacle course.

We are excited to report that many of our policy priorities are alive and well after Friday’s cutoff, including these bills that passed out of the Senate Ways and Means Committee and Senate Rules:

- ESHB 1678, which would authorize dental therapy at community health clinics statewide.
- 2SHB 1447, which would make much-needed improvements to TANF, including eliminating time limits for cases that only involve children.
- ESHB 1260, which would end the requirement for adults with disabilities to repay their ABD benefits to the state when they transfer onto SSI.
- ESHB 1329, which would prevent utility providers from shutting off electric service and drinking water to residential customers due to extreme heat.

Our work is far from over!

Now that these bills have passed through Ways and Means and Rules, they need to be put to a vote on the Senate Floor . They have until the next bill cutoff, April 12, to pass off of the Senate floor.

This means we have to keep up the pressure on Senators to vote YES on ESHB 1678, 2SHB 1447, ESHB 1260, and ESHB 1329!
