*Nottingham's 2028 carbon neutral target*
Nottingham has made the commitment tobecome the first carbon neutral city in the country, reaching this target by 2028.
This means cutting carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions that arise from the consumption of energy within the city to near zero. In 2017, nearly a third of Nottinghams total CO2 emissions came from transport, of which almost all resulted from road transport like cars, vans, lorries and buses. Action is needed to reduce car journeys, increase cycling and walking, improve public transport and more low emission vehicles. Through this we can achieve better air quality, mobility and health for citizens.
Nottingham City Council is asking for your views on becoming the UKs first carbon neutral city and the actions and aims we have proposed to get there. Take part [ [link removed] ] in our online survey and let us know what you think.
