John,
On Wednesday, Rep. David Schweikert held a telephone "town hall." It was
an hour of screened questions and calls being dropped.
He continues to hide from his constituents. He hasn't held a real,
in-person town hall in over 6 years. And yes, he is still under
investigation by a bipartisan House ethics committee.
Our representative doesn't believe in transparency or accountability.
I do. Â
In fact, that same evening, I held a coffee, which was open to the
general public and offered a chance for open, unscreened conversation.

We had great policy debate and hopeful talks about healing our nation.
Which Wednesday evening sounds better to you?
Join me in bringing true representation back to this district and
setting a new norm across the country. Join our movement with $5, $25 or
more today before tonight's January deadline.
How serious am I about a new type of representation? Quite. Earlier this
week, I signed the Town Hall Pledge. I agree to:
* A minimum of 4 town halls per calendar year
* Town halls that are in-person, free and open to the public and press
* At least 30 minutes for open, unscreened questions

See you in February!
Best,
Anita Malik
