Dear Friend, In this week's roundup: Continuing my 36 County Tour, the Biden Administration's WOTUS rule, and my op-ed on President Biden's budget. That and more – remember to follow my Facebook page by clicking here and my Twitter page by clicking here to stay up-to-date throughout the week! MY THOUGHTS ON PRESIDENT BIDEN'S BUDGET PROPOSAL President Biden’s $7-trillion budget proposes $5 trillion in new taxes on our families and small businesses and forecasts that our debt will rise to $50 trillion by 2033. In our Commitment to America, Republicans promised to end reckless spending and restore fiscal sanity. That's why we will never support this wasteful proposal that will continue to burden our families and leave future generations to pick up the tab. OTHER VOICES: President Biden's budget spells disaster During the first two years of his administration, President Biden's reckless policies epitomized his tax-and-spend proclivities and complete disregard for fiscal responsibility. Despite repeated calls from Republicans to abandon his wasteful... We covered the Farm Bill, WOTUS, and my amendment to the Lower Energy Costs Act to prevent China from buying American farmland suitable for ethanol and biodiesel production. I will continue to bring the voices of the 4th District with me to Congress so that we can craft a strong Farm Bill that benefits everyone. DELIVERING FOR THE 4TH DISTRICT...LITERALLY I had a blast delivering packages with UPS driver, Jerod, and chatting with Iowans in Denison on my 36 County Tour. In Congress, I’m working every day to deliver for Iowa families, farmers, main street businesses, and our rural communities. PRESIDENT BIDEN'S BURDENSOME WOTUS RULE President Biden’s reckless policies have saddled our farmers with red tape and increased input costs for our producers. That’s why I voted to overturn his new WOTUS rule and pledged to pass a strong Farm Bill that benefits the 4th District and rural America. I was disappointed to see Biden turn his back on rural America once again by vetoing the bipartisan resolution overturning the disastrous WOTUS rule. The government should be making it easier to work and be successful, not adding more red tape. That’s why I introduced the Advancing Cutting Edge (ACE) Agriculture Act with my colleague Rep. Jimmy Panetta – who also serves on the House Agriculture Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee – to double funding from $50 million to $100 million for the Agriculture Research and Development Authority (AgARDA), which supports high-risk, high-reward projects that seek to lower input costs for farmers and increase crop yields.
