During Holy
Week, Christians unite their lives to the journey of Christ to Calvary. Everyone’s walk with God is personal, but more and more, talking about
faith in American culture has become viewed as “taboo,” “offensive,” or “judgmental.”
With church attendance and religion at record
lows in our country, sharing stories of faith has never been more important to restoring our common cause for a good and moral society.
This week, we wanted to highlight a
leader who, through sharing her personal walk with God, has inspired so many Americans. That leader is 2024 Presidential candidate Nikki Haley.
Nikki Haley's Personal Faith Journey
As the daughter of Indian immigrants, Nikki was born into a Sikh family. Her parents are very serious about their Sikh faith and taught
their children to respect everyone's personal relationship with God.
When Nikki's parents first arrived in Bamberg, South Carolina, the town
worked hard to convert them, and they accepted invitations to visit various congregations.
From childhood, Nikki was exposed to many different faiths
and converted to Christianity because the teachings of Christ in the Gospels spoke to her in a way that she understood.
She knows that she was free to
choose her faith because of her parents' choice to raise their children in the United States. And she doesn't take it for granted.
Freedom and faith
must be fought for if we're going to restore conservative, Christian values in America. Now, Nikki is running for president to defend freedom and
religious liberty in America. |
