It really feels like they keep trying to one-up each other.
The Idaho GOP is trying to restrict some travel for young people seeking an abortion out of state. Dem AGs are fighting back against extremist policies like these. Chip in to elect candidates who will fight back against the GOP’s radical agenda:
The GOP in Idaho has already implemented some of the most extreme abortion restrictions in the country, but they want to take it even further. Now, they’re trying to stop young people from traveling out of state to get an abortion without parental consent. The law, signed this week by the Governor, enacts the nation’s first crime of so-called “abortion trafficking.”
The bill would criminalize adults for helping a young person access abortion care or leave the state for an abortion without parental consent. While many young people include their parents in the decision to get an abortion, some are in dangerous, abusive situations and disclosing this information could put them at risk of further harm. This law has raised many concerns about the state’s ability to restrict Idahoans from traveling into neighboring states to access legal abortion care and poses serious risks for individuals’ medical privacy.
It’s absolutely ludicrous, and we can’t sit back and watch as they continue to chip away at abortion access. Electing Dem AGs across the country is how we can help fight back. Democratic AGs have the power to challenge laws like this and win.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
