After weeks of waiting, a far-right, Trump-appointed judge in Texas has done exactly what we feared: He ordered the Food & Drug Administration to suspend approval for the abortion pill mifepristone, part of the most common form of abortion care in the USA.

Mifepristone is safe — safer than Tylenol and Viagra. It is effective — it’s been on the shelves for more than twenty years. It is still safe and effective now.
