Since the fall of Roe, right-wing extremists have continued in their quest to criminalize abortion.
And yesterday, a Texas judge further eroded reproductive freedoms.
The case, which overturns the FDA's approval of the abortion medication mifepristone, is expected to affect the availability of this safe and legal drug across the country.
Let me make one thing very clear: Abortion is still legal in pro-choice states like Oregon.
Medication abortions are the most common type of abortion. Mifepristone is safe and effective; in fact, it's as safe as Tylenol. And mifepristone has been FDA-approved for more than 20 years.
Overturning the FDA's approval isn't about safety and it isn't about science; it's about restricting reproductive rights.
Clinics are already crowded with out-of-state patients. The increased demand will stretch them further, and fewer people will get the abortion care they need.
Across the country, voters have made it clear they want to protect the right to decide when or whether to have a child.
The far-right won't give up. They weren't satisfied with overturning Roe, and they will continue their attack on reproductive freedom.
But we won't give up either.
Together we are a powerful movement for change. And we need leaders who will protect and expand reproductive rights. Will you join the movement and help elect pro-choice leaders?
Thank you for standing with me for reproductive rights.
