LANCASTER, Pa. — U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson has spent his first months as chairman of the House Agriculture Committee launching his plans for the Farm Bill and ag employment.

His committee is in the process of auditing the Farm Bill’s numerous programs, and Thompson said there’s time to work out any financial and political concerns before the 2018 law expires at the end of September.

Thompson would like to move the Farm Bill in late July. (Lancaster Farming)

U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser on Monday introduced a pair of bills aimed at expanding air travel opportunities for individuals living in middle America, while simultaneously reducing congestion at the country’s major airports.

Meuser, R-Dallas, introduced the Essential Air Service Reform Act and was joined by U.S. Rep. David Trone, D-Md., in introducing the Supporting Middle America’s Airports Act. (Times Leader)
