Yesterday, the assault on abortion access in the United States continued when a Texas federal court attempted to block the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of mifepristone—one of the two drugs used in medication abortion. The court’s unprecedented decision will take effect in seven days giving the FDA time to appeal the ruling before it takes effect.

Our team is working around the clock to ensure everyone can access the health care they need. But we can't do it without your support. [[link removed]]

This lawsuit was manufactured as part of an orchestrated campaign to deny all women in the U.S. access to abortion, even those living in states with strong abortion rights protections. While the decision is without merit, its impact is devastating, threatening access to a safe and effective medicine used by over five million patients in the past two decades.

We've already seen what happens when abortion access is stripped away: clinics inundated with patients unable to receive the health care they need, people forced to continue pregnancies against their will or at risk to their health, and more. The list goes on.

You and I can't let this happen. I hope you'll double down on your commitment to this fight today. [[link removed]]

Immediately after the ruling, a federal court in Washington state issued a conflicting decision, ordering the FDA to keep mifepristone available under the current regulations. Competing orders from two federal judges are unprecedented, and we are working to understand what the impact will be.

We are fighting back on every front as litigation continues, developing legal and policy responses to be prepared for all case outcomes and coordinating closely with our partners and clients to protect access to medication abortion across the country. Rest assured, we'll be updating you about next steps in the coming days and in the meantime, you can read my full statement here. [[link removed]]
